Why gravesendfootballleague.co.uk

We all love football for whatever the reason, but unfortunately less and less people are willing to play.  In the league Council we feel it is our mission to expand the game of football within Gravesham and the surrounding areas.

 

This website is here for several reasons

· To capture the achievements of people and teams both past and present

· To celebrate over 100 years of competitive Saturday afternoon football in Gravesend and surrounding areas.

· To encourage youngsters to play and referee the game

· To promote our teams and the Gravesend Football League in the community

· To continue to support local and national charities

 

We can all play our part.  Please take time to read and familiarise yourself with our newsletters.  They contain up to date information which will help you if you are a player or manager/secretary.

 

Please check Mitoo for new documentation, results, fixtures, league tables etc.  It is a very informative site with a lot of information.

 

As a player please respect other players/officials/supporters, please take the time to read the Gravesend League code of conduct.  Also please make sure your subs are paid to your secretary.

 

Let’s make 2008-2009 a season we can be proud of, competitive yet fair.  Let’s do our best by playing the game in the spirit it should be played in.  And let’s have respect for the match officials without whom we would not have unbiased decisions on the field of play.

 

And finally, let’s play hard and fair and have a passion for winning.
